Whenever I go to Malaysia on the NS highway, my car will get a lot of stone chips. One way to protect them is to use the 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film. It is a rubbery film which claims to protect the paintwork and headlights from stone chips. I applied it on my headlights and fog lamps to test out the product. It is too costly to apply the film on the whole front bumper and bonnet, and cheaper to just respray. Alternatively, the workshop guy told me to just plastidip the bumper and bonnet in thick layers, as the rubber of plastidip works the same way as the film. Some pictures during installation, when done cant tell the difference. Said to be able to last at least 3-5 years.
